Closing my practice in 2022 allowed me the opportunity to distill decades of family counseling experience into a new framework for parenting adolescents. The result is “The Family Decision-Making Roadmap: a Practical Guide to Parenting Your Teen.” A second book in progress is tentatively called “How Our Children Help Us Grow: The Impact of Parenting on Adult Development.”
During my career, I was a program director at the
Morrison Center for Child and Family Services, a clinical instructor in child psychiatry at Oregon Health Science University, a psychological consultant to a pediatric practice as well as maintaining my own private practice.
I taught and published in the areas of child abuse, family therapy and other childhood problems.
